The Magoroku Whetstone Coarse 400 Grit is designed for repairing chips, cracks, and straightening the blade edge. Its stronger grinding power makes it ideal for removing small chips, reshaping the blade, and even eliminating rust. The whetstone ensures a smooth sharpening process, offering reliable performance for restoring your knives. It comes with a multifunctional storage case that not only keeps the stone secure but also features a lid to hold water for soaking the whetstone before use. The base of the case is equipped with non-slip feet, providing a stable platform for sharpening. This versatile whetstone is perfect for maintaining all types of knives, including high-performance blades.

Using Your Whetstone:

  • Coarse grit (220–400): For quick material removal, repairing chips, or fixing imperfections.
  • Medium grit (1000–2000): Ideal for sharpening dull knives in decent condition.
  • Fine grit (4000–8000): For polishing, fine sharpening, and achieving a mirror-like finish.

Soaking the Whetstone:

  • Soak in water for 10 minutes before use.
  • Keep the whetstone slightly wet during sharpening by adding water as needed.

Sharpening Double Bevel Blades:

  • Hold at a 15° angle and move the blade towards and away from your body with light pressure.
  • Repeat until a fine burr forms, then sharpen both sides evenly.
  • Remove the burr by swiping the blade left and right across a piece of newspaper.
  • After sharpening, wash, dry, and store your knife safely.
